Location

Located on an idyllic 1000 acre private island in the Turcs & Caicos Islands with 1 mile of powdered sand beach for long beach walks and the utmost in privacy.  Don’t be surprised to bump into any famous faces, A-list celebrities such as Bruce Willis, Sandra Bullock and the Beckham’s have been known to relax here, safely tucked away from the paparazzi’s prying lenses. Even the boat ride to the island is glamorous – gliding across the sparkling blue waters where if you look hard enough you may even see dolphins!

Rooms

The rooms are decked out with four-poster beds, stylish yet simplistic white linen and white drapes, every room with its own deck, balcony or patio. In the bathrooms you will find the heavenly Como Shambhala products that you will become addicted to! Room types include Garden and Ocean View Rooms, Suites with separate living areas and Beach Houses and Villas located just 30 metres from the ocean.

Food

Fresh and healthy Como Shambhala Cuisine is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The emphasis is on raw organic ingredients which are easily digested and with higher vitamin and mineral content.  Dairy is replaced with blended organic nut milks, sugar replaced with honey and fresh fish and sea vegetables are widely used in the delicious and healthy options. If you want to switch to the regular menu you won't be sacrificing fresh and healthy. There are Thai, Japanese and Mediterannean inspired dishes in the evening and light lunchtime options with Caribbean flavours.

Fitness and Daily Activities

The yoga and pilates teachers are excellent and they run free classes 6 days a week either at the beach or at the yoga pavillion. The weekly activity schedule usually includes other activities such as cross training, meditation and lectures on yogic philosophy.  There is a fully equipped pilates studio for private sessions and 2 floodlit tennis courts that are free to use.  The gym is extremely well equipped  if you want to keep up your routine . For watersports lovers, all the non motorised watersports are free - try some windsurfing, kayaking or camaran sailing. 

Other activities

The library is well stocked so don't worry about loading up your luggage with books.  There is also table tennis and a pool table.  The back country of the island has trails if you want to explore. Diving, island hopping and fishing are available at a cost.

• The theme is very much relaxed here, and the dress codes are cool yet dress down. In fact dressing up for dinner will almost certainly result in people staring.
