Porto Elounda is designed to respect the cultural heritage of Crete. Unlike most hotels, you don't have to pay more for a sea view as all the room have breathtaking views of the sea. If you want access to a shared pool or even your own private pool, these are available and they are all seawater pools!. All accommodation has individually controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, safety deposit box, marble bathroom, and room care twice daily.

Food

Enjoy genuine Cretan cuisine, prepared for you at this outstanding Mediterranean resort. Nafsika restaurant offers breakfast and buffets with a stunning sea view. Mediterranean and Cretan a la carte dining is available at the olive groves of Elies restaurant, while lunch is served at Odysseus tavern, right on the water’s edge, with a selection of fresh seafood and Greek dishes. The Kirki bar serves aperitifs and cocktails, and drinks and snacks are served throughout the day at The Beach Bar.

If you're on the 'sense of detox' programme, a delicious, nutritional detox diet is served. Expect to find lots of fresh fish and vegetables, salads and fruits. In the evening tasty, light broths are served so you're bound to shed a few pounds without going hungry! 

Fitness and Daily Activities

Porto Elounda offers a fantastic range of fitness facilities, including a sea sports centre with water ski, jet ski, windsurfing, laser sailing, canoe, kayak, pedaloe, Inner tubes, banana, para sailing, beach volley and a PADI – certified diving centre at the EU Blue Flag awarded private beach. Two Astrofurf tennis courts, a gymnasium, and indoor heated pool are available at the resort. If you want to venture out of the resort, outdoor activities in the surrounding mountain ranges can be arranged.

Other Activities

If you play golf, you can enjoy a 9-hole par-3 golf course, with stunning sea views, or hire a sailing boat and set off at sunset, or chill out on the resort’s own sandy beach. Guided tours are available on request, as well as cooking classes and wine tasting. Let your children spend the day with experienced child care professionals, in a space inspired by children and made for their entertainment. The Children’s ark is surrounded by olive groves and two shallow pools, with creative entertainment areas such as a drawing school and a kitchen, as well as sleeping quarters for the younger ones. (Suitable for children from 6 months to 10 years.)

• If you like watersports, the facilities are fantastic and you can even learn how to dive at the PADI centre
• Be prepared to slow down and take your time over meals, just as the Greeks do. Did you know that the Cretans have what is thought to be the healthiest diet in the world?
• Take some time out to visit the quaint villages and famous archaelogical sites on Crete

Wellness Approach

• True to the Six Senses Spa origins, the approach is holistic with therapies on offer that range from Tai Chi, Reiki and Oriental Massages.  A Greek flavour has been added with the use of a natural Greek product range with many of the treatments and there are lots of options for firming and toning . In our opinions, this is one of the most beautifully designed spas in Europe with views over the sea and distant mountain ranges.

Freestyle Spa

• A Turkish hamman, a Caldarium (a traditional Roman steam room), traditional Finnish sauna and ice cold plunge pool.  The Thalassotherapy pool in the spa has an indoor and outdoor section has different jets for water massage option.  There are indoor and outdoor relaxation areas.

Signature Treatment

Royal Elixir Spa Journey. A complete treatment for face and body that uses the properties of honey, propolis and royal jelly harvested in Greece to nourish the skin.  The treatment starts with a honey scrub that is applied to your body.  With the scrub still on, you relax in a Cleopatra Bath that includes a blend of milk, aromatherapy oils and salts.  The combination of all the ingredients will feed and repair your skin with the unique properties of bee products.  After emerging from the bath you will be massaged with essential oils and given a facial with products that include royal jelly and propolis.  A fantastic all over treatment that is very beneficial after sun bathing and will make your tan last longer!
