Uma Ubud
Uma Ubud Details
Location
Located on the fringes of the cultural town of Ubud, Uma is set on 30 square kilometres of land overlooking a beautiful valley, with the river Oos running below. The centre of Ubud, with its shops, galleries and restaurants is a 20 minute walk away.
Transfer Time - 60 mins from Denpasar Airport
Rooms
With less than 30 rooms, Uma really is a hideaway boutique retreat. The Terrace rooms are the cheapest but incredibly stylish and a good size, with french doors that open out on a private terrace overlooking the gardens. One step up are the Garden rooms which have an open courtyard that connects the bedroom to the bathroom. Or you could treat yourself to a one of the beautiful suites, that come with or without private pool.
Food
Meals served at the Kemiri restaurant incorporate local organic ingredients and are South East Asian in taste. Food is light, healthy and extremely tasty! There are a numerous restaurants in Ubud for more choice.
Fitness and Daily Activities
Free activities include daily morning guided walks through the paddy field and daily yoga classes either at the yoga pavillion or yoga studio. You can complement your yoga practice with private meditation and yoga classes at a reasonable cost. There is also a gym housed in the spa.
Other activities
Explore the unique Balinese culture with visits to local temples, galleries and museums that are easily organised by our friends at Uma. For more active pastimes try white wafter rafting, volcano climbing, mountain biking or treks in Bali's undiscovered hills.
Insider Tips
- Shop, shop, shop! Stock up for Christmas, and any imminent birthdays! The local crafts are beautiful and very good value.
Holiday insider tips
Wellness Approach
- A small but perfectly formed holistic spa offering South East Asian inspired treatments and a selection of Ayurvedic treatments carried out by specially trained therapists.
Freestyle Spa
- Steam room, sauna, 25 metre pool and two open air yoga pavillions
Signature Treatment
Balinese Spice Body Mask. As part of the traditional medicine of Bali, this treatment is believed to warm the body, relieving tired muscles and minor rheumatic conditions. Hand-crushed rice is blended with black pepper, whole cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger (known as Balinese Boreh) offering an all-over deep heat experience, finishing off with an Indonesian massage.
We Love
- The Como Shambhala facial that uses the Como Shambhala Purify products with no colour, petrochemicals, parabens or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. In addition to excluding the nasties, they smell divine, combining essential oils of grapefruit, fennel, cypress and lime.
