Evason Ma'In Hot Springs & Six Senses Spa Details

Location

The journey to, and arrival at Evason Ma'In is spectacular - travel through the vast expanse of Jordanian desert interspersed with clusters of orange orchards and olive groves, with the occasional sighting of Bedouins herding their goats and sheep. Then, as the road descends down a dramatic rocky ravine, the green oasis that is Evason Ma'In appears like a sparkling emerald.  Lying at 264 metre below sea level, with views to the Dead Sea and home to the legendary Ma'In Hot Springs where hot mineral-rich water cascades over the rock faces creating steamy waterfall and bathing pools, it is a tranquil and unique retreat for relaxation and therapuetic benefits of the water.

Six Senses Resorts & Spas took over management of the hotel (formerly Janna Spa & Resort) on 14 February 2009, softening the sandstone exterior of the hotel to blend with the surroundings and refurbishing the interiors with pale pastel colours, soft lighting and inviting plump sofas and day beds to give the look and feel of a contemporary Arabian palace.  You can't help but feel delight on entering this luxurious gem.

Rooms

The 97 rooms and suites have been refurbished with a fresh and stylish look using natural local materials, such as wooden floors, beams and furniture, along with bright colourful fabrics in keeping with the Arabian hues.  Crisp white cotton linens on deep comfortable mattresses invite good nights sleep.  Marble bathrooms feature rain showers and are stocked with Six Senses toiletries. All of the rooms are spacious and have floor-to-ceiling windows which open on to balconies that offer views to either the Dead Sea or mountains.  The hi-tech facilities in the rooms include large flat-screen televisions and CD/DVD players. Rooms also have DSL broadband and there is WiFi available in both the library and the lobby spaces.  Superior Rooms (12 of them) are twin bedded which are great value for single travellers or friends sharing a room, though the main room type is Evason Room (66 of them) which is a spacious 46 sqm.

Food

The 3 restaurants at Evason Ma'In serve some the best food in the region and allow guests a chance to try both local cuisine as well as top international fare.  In addition, there are a number of special private dining options - dinner on a cliff top overlooking the Dead Sea with stunning sunset views.  Freshest ingredients are used in all cooking including herbs and vegetables from the resorts organic garden and Spa inspired cuisine is available for those wanting a healthy option.

• Sense of Arabia - a fine dining Pan-Arabic restaurant offering speciality degustation menus where you sample and share a range of high culinary art.  Seating is typical floor-style with low tables and big cushions, all with a magnificent view over the waterfalls.
• Zarb at the Olive - a unique local dining experience where food is prepared in a traditional Bedouin style with breads cooked over fires and dishes slow cooked for hours, all served in a authentic Bedouin tent in the Olive Grove. Dining here is an experience not to be missed - not available everyday so do book early.
• Brown and White Bar - these two bars are the ultimate in relaxation chic with daybeds and floor cushion seating, low tables, twinkling lanterns, mellow music, open fireplace on the terrace - just the perfect place to enjoy a pre or post-dinner cocktail.
• Pool Bar - serves healthy grills, snacks and over 40 flavours of homemade icecream

Fitness and Daily Activities

This is the kind of place you just want to spend your time outdoors, enjoying the swimming pool, soaking in the natural hot spring pools, taking the resort bikes out to explore the Ma'In valley, walking in the mountains, hiking to the Dead Sea etc but for those who prefer to exercise indoors, there is a fully equipped gym.

Other Activities

Learn some traditional arabian cuisne at the Cooking classes.  Enjoy a Hot Spring Picnic.  Or take an excursion to the many local historical sites.  Float in the Dead Sea. Hamman at Ma'In Signature Journey: 

A unique, luxurious Jordanian experience designed to improve cell metabolism and detoxify from top to toe. Includes healing mineral rich Dead Sea salts, steam, Dead Sea biological mud wrap and a private bath in a spa suite room. A warm henna flower oil is massaged into the scalp and hair followed by a face and body massage to complete the rejuvenation process.
