The Macrobiotic detox, SHA Wellness Clinic, Spain
The great thing about this glam spa is its amazing but super-healthy macrobiotic food. My diet is pretty junky, so my worry was that with fish, vegetables and whoe grains on the menu, I'd be moody and hungry all week. My first meal was a tiny lobster claw with safood foam and a sprinkling of mushroom dust. Delicious, but I had to dive into the rice crackers in the minibar later.
Kylie Minogue, Naomi Campbell and Donna Air have all purged their bodies here and I can see why: the fabulous minimalist architecture, coastline views, outdoor yoga sessions and macrobiotic cooking classes are truly inspiring. A Shiatsu massage, some Reiki and a couple of floatarium sessions provided the kind of relaxation rarely acheived without a month off work. Now back home, I've vowed that brown rice will be my friend and white bread is the devil.
Go if ... you need to cut out the junk and learn the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle.
