Experience the Product for FREE at the Ananda in the Himalayas

ila have taken their philosophy of “Purity, Energy & Balance” one step further to develop signature treatments at our award winning destination spa, Ananda in the Himalayas. The Tibetan Healing Treatments at the Ananda are personally developed by Denise Leicester, the founder of ila. We asked Denise to tell us about her inspiration and journey when designing the treatments.

How did you come up with the treatment concept?

When Ananda asked me to create Tibetan rituals and massage I spent 6 months researching the principles of their healing and medical traditions. The aim of all the Tibetan based rituals was to honour and respect the ancient Tibetan traditions of healing and in so doing restore energy, harmony and also strength.

What do the treatments include?

Carefully selected organic and wild grown essential oils many of which are inherent to the Himalayas and are mentioned in the Tibetan Holy texts have been chosen. Traditional Tibetan techniques are used to stimulate first the lymphatic system and then with more subtle massage to energise the body and meridian system.

What makes this special?

We asked a Tibetan Rinpoche to bless the work I had created which He most certainly did... saying 'how happy he was that an Englishwoman had thought so lovingly of Tibet and that all receiving these treatments would remember Tibet..'
